Former railroader dead

      Elbert Byrd Brown, 61, a retired railroad fireman and resident of Deer Lodge, Mont., will be buried at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens at 11 a.m. Saturday.
      The Rev. Ronald Siebert, pastor of the Orchards Baptist Church, will officiate.
      Brown died Tuesday at Deer Lodge of a kidney ailment. He was a longtime fireman for the Milwaukee Road at Avery until moving to Deer Lodge in 1968.
      He was born April 28, 1914, at Fortson, Wash., the son of William and Delora Brown. He married Lillian Spears at Lewiston. She survives at the home at Dee Lodge.
      Also surviving are a daughter, Janite Brown of Seattle; his mother, Mrs. Delora Profitt of Pasco, and three sisters, Gladys Beck of Lenore, Dorothy George of Pasco and Hazel Freeman of Superior, Mont.
